Microwave runs for a few seconds then stops and resets to the clock without heating.

• Step 2 – Inspect latch and bracket: Remove the outer cover and locate the door switch bracket. Tighten any loose screws and ensure the switches are firmly held in place.
• Step 3 – Check for heat-related shutdown: If the microwave stops after longer runs, the cavity or magnetron thermostat may be tripping early. Ensure vents are clear and the cooling fan is operating.
• Step 4 – Replace worn parts: Replace worn latch hooks, loose brackets, or thermostats that open prematurely (as verified by a technician).
• Step 5 – Control board: If mechanical parts are sound, a failing relay on the control PCB may be dropping power to the high-voltage circuit. This requires board repair or replacement.
