Possible Causes
Failed low-voltage power supply on control board, Blown control board fuse, Damaged varistor or line filter after surge, Loose control board connectors
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before removing any panels.
- 1. Power reset: Unplug the unit for 10–15 minutes to allow internal capacitors to discharge. Plug back in and check if E05 clears.
- 2. Check internal fuses: Remove the outer cover and locate the main ceramic fuse and any small fuses on the control PCB. Inspect visually; if a fuse looks blackened or open, test with a multimeter for continuity. Replace only with the exact same rating.
- 3. Inspect surge components: Near the power cord entry, look for a metal-oxide varistor (MOV) and line filter. If the MOV is cracked or burnt, it indicates a surge event and the control board may also be damaged.
- 4. Reseat connectors: Gently unplug and replug the multi-pin connectors going to the control PCB, ensuring a firm fit.
- 5. If fuses blow again immediately or E05 persists: The control PCB power supply is likely defective and the board should be replaced as an assembly.
