Possible Causes
Failed grill relay on control PCB, Open grill element wiring, Faulty grill temperature sensor, Control PCB grill driver failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave and allow it to cool before working on grill components.
- 1. Mode isolation: Verify that standard microwave mode works but grill mode immediately triggers E20.
- 2. Inspect grill element and wiring: Remove the top cover to access the grill element. Check for broken wires or burnt connectors.
- 3. Test grill element: Disconnect one lead and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed element.
- 4. Check grill sensor/thermostat: Test for continuity at room temperature. Replace if open.
- 5. If hardware is good: The grill relay or driver on the control PCB may be defective. Replace the control PCB.
