Possible Causes

Defective primary door switch,Defective secondary door switch,Faulty monitor door switch,Loose or misaligned door latch hooks

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the Privileg microwave from the mains before any work. High-voltage components can retain a dangerous charge even when unplugged. Do not touch the high-voltage capacitor or magnetron area unless you are trained.

Step-by-step checks:

  • 1. Inspect the door and latches: Open and close the door firmly. Check that the plastic latch hooks on the door are not cracked or bent and that the door sits evenly in the frame.
  • 2. Check for obvious misalignment: With the unit unplugged, gently press on the door while closing; if the microwave only starts when you push on the door (after reconnecting power to test), the interlock switches are likely misaligned.
  • 3. Access the door switch bracket: Remove the outer cabinet (usually screws at the back and sides). Locate the door switch assembly near the latch openings on the front frame.
  • 4. Test the switches: Label the wires, then disconnect them from each microswitch. Using a multimeter on continuity, check each switch while pressing and releasing the actuator. Replace any switch that does not change state cleanly.
  • 5. Inspect the switch bracket: If the metal or plastic bracket holding the switches is loose or bent, tighten screws or carefully bend it back so the door latches fully depress the switches.
  • 6. Reassemble and test: Refit the cabinet, plug in, and test with a cup of water. If E01 persists, further diagnosis of the control board is required by a professional.

Warning: If you are not comfortable working around mains voltage or disassembling the cabinet, contact a qualified appliance technician.
