Possible Causes
Stalled or seized turntable motor,Broken turntable coupler,Obstruction under the turntable plate,Faulty motor wiring or connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before inspecting the underside or removing panels.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Remove and inspect the glass tray: Take out the glass turntable and roller ring. Clean them and the cavity floor. Check for food debris or broken glass pieces that could jam rotation.
- 2. Inspect the coupler: The plastic coupler that fits into the motor shaft should be intact and firmly seated. Replace if cracked or stripped.
- 3. Test rotation manually: With the tray removed, gently turn the coupler by hand. It should rotate smoothly with slight resistance. If it is stiff or does not turn, the motor may be seized.
- 4. Access the motor: On many Privileg models, the turntable motor is accessible from the bottom. Remove the bottom cover (if present) and disconnect the motor wires.
- 5. Test the motor: Measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Replace with the correct voltage and RPM-rated motor.
- 6. Reassemble and test: Refit the bottom cover, reinstall the coupler, roller ring, and glass tray, then test with a cup of water.
