Possible Causes
Failed exhaust fan motor, Defective fan speed switch or keypad, Faulty fan relay on control board, Obstructed fan blades
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety Warning: Unplug the microwave before accessing the fan assembly.
Steps:
- 1. Test all speeds: Try each fan speed button. If none work, suspect the motor or control. If only one speed fails, the control or wiring may be at fault.
- 2. Check for obstructions: Remove the top grille and inspect the exhaust fan blades for grease buildup or foreign objects.
- 3. Motor test (intermediate DIY): With the unit unplugged, access the fan motor, disconnect its wires, and test for continuity. Replace the motor if open or seized.
If the motor is good but the fan still does not run, the control board or fan switch likely needs replacement.
