Possible Causes
Burned-out cavity bulb, Loose lamp socket, Failed lamp relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety Warning: Unplug the microwave before replacing the bulb. Avoid touching high-voltage components.
Steps:
- 1. Access lamp: On many RCA models, the lamp is behind a small access panel on the back or under the unit. Remove the screws and panel.
- 2. Replace bulb: Carefully remove the old bulb and install a new microwave-rated bulb of the same type and wattage.
- 3. Check socket: Ensure the socket is not burned or loose. If damaged, replace the socket assembly.
If a new bulb does not light, the lamp relay or control board may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
