How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety Warning: Unplug the microwave before removing the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Test multiple keys: Note which keys fail. If entire rows or columns are dead, the membrane or ribbon cable is likely damaged.
- 2. Dry and clean: If the keypad was exposed to liquid, allow it to dry thoroughly. Wipe the surface with a slightly damp cloth only.
- 3. Reseat ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and carefully disconnect and reconnect the keypad ribbon cable to the control board.
If keys remain unresponsive, replace the membrane keypad or complete control panel assembly with an RCA-compatible part.
