Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Cracked turntable coupler, Worn turntable support ring, Food debris obstructing rotation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety Warning: Unplug the microwave before accessing the bottom panel or motor.
Steps:
- 1. Remove and clean: Take out the glass tray and support ring. Clean the tray, ring, and oven floor. Remove any spilled food or debris from the turntable coupler.
- 2. Inspect coupler and ring: Check the plastic coupler for cracks and ensure the support ring wheels roll smoothly.
- 3. Test without load: Run the microwave for a few seconds with the tray removed and watch the coupler. If it does not turn, the motor may be bad.
- 4. Replace motor (intermediate DIY): Unplug the unit, remove the bottom panel (or access from inside on some models), disconnect the motor wires, and replace with an RCA-compatible turntable motor.
