Microwave displays dE or DE and will not start, beeps when pressing start

Safety first: Always unplug the microwave before adjusting door components.

• 1. Check door closure: Close the door firmly until you hear a clear click. If the door feels spongy or does not latch positively, the latch hooks or strike may be worn.
• 2. Inspect hinges and latch: Look for visible bending, cracks, or looseness in the hinges and latch area. Tighten any accessible hinge screws.
• 3. Test door switches (advanced): With the cabinet removed and the unit unplugged, locate the door switch assembly. Ensure the switch bracket is secure and that the switches click when the door is opened and closed. Replace any switch that does not actuate cleanly.
• 4. Adjust latch alignment: If the latch bracket is slightly out of position, carefully adjust it so that the door hooks fully engage the switches when closed.
• 5. Reassemble and test: After adjustments, reassemble the unit and test. If dE remains, further diagnosis of the interlock circuit or control PCB is required.
