Cavity Lamp or Lamp Circuit Failure
Microwave interior light does not turn on when cooking or when the door is opened, but the unit otherwise operates normally.

Possible Causes
Burnt-out cavity lamp, loose lamp holder connection, failed lamp relay on control PCB, broken lamp wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave and allow the lamp area to cool before attempting replacement. Use only the lamp type specified by Sage.
Steps to restore interior lighting:
- 1. Confirm symptom: Start a short cooking cycle and open the door. If the unit heats normally but the light never comes on, the issue is isolated to the lamp circuit.
- 2. Access the lamp: On many Sage microwaves, the lamp is accessible from the rear or side via a small service cover. Remove the cover screws to expose the lamp holder.
- 3. Inspect and replace lamp: Check the filament of the bulb. If it appears broken or blackened, replace the lamp with a Sage-approved cavity lamp of the same wattage and base type.
- 4. Check connections: Ensure the lamp holder contacts are clean and the wires are firmly attached.
- 5. Reassemble and test: Refit the cover, plug in the microwave, and test the light by opening the door and starting a cycle.
If a new lamp does not light, the lamp relay or wiring may be faulty and should be diagnosed by a technician.
