Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Jammed turntable coupler, Broken turntable drive shaft, Faulty motor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before handling the turntable components.
Steps:
- 1. Remove and clean: Take out the glass turntable and the plastic roller ring. Clean both and the cavity floor to remove food debris that may jam the mechanism.
- 2. Inspect coupler: Check the turntable coupler (the plastic piece that fits over the motor shaft) for cracks or melting. Replace if damaged.
- 3. Test rotation: With the glass tray removed, gently try to rotate the coupler by hand. It should turn smoothly with slight resistance. If it is seized, the motor may be jammed or failed.
- 4. Test with light load: Refit the roller ring and tray, place a light microwave-safe container of water, and run for 30–60 seconds. If E9 reappears and the tray does not move, the motor is likely faulty.
Technician-level: Access the underside of the cavity, test the turntable motor for continuity and supply voltage, and replace the motor if defective.
