Possible Causes
Blown cavity lamp, Loose lamp holder connection, Faulty lamp cover or heat damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before replacing the lamp. Do not touch high-voltage components.
Steps:
- 1. Access lamp: On many Salter models, the lamp is accessible by removing a small cover on the side or rear of the cabinet. On others, the outer cover must be removed (technician recommended).
- 2. Identify lamp type: Note the lamp type and rating (e.g., 25W 230V microwave oven bulb) printed on the bulb or in the user manual.
- 3. Replace lamp: Carefully remove the old bulb from the lamp holder and fit a new, identical microwave-rated bulb.
- 4. Test: Refit covers and test operation. If the new lamp does not light, wiring or the control circuit may be faulty and require professional service.
