Possible Causes
Open or shorted humidity sensor, Damaged sensor harness, Faulty control board sensor input, Corroded sensor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before inspection. Do not operate the microwave with covers removed.
- Reset: Unplug for 10 minutes and reconnect. Try a non-sensor manual cook mode. If E-12 appears even in manual mode, hardware is likely at fault.
- Visual inspection: Check the interior sensor cover for damage or heavy residue. Clean gently with a soft cloth and mild soap, then dry.
- Check harness (advanced): Remove the control panel and trace the small harness from the humidity sensor to the main PCB. Ensure connectors are fully seated and wires are not pinched or broken.
- Replace sensor: If wiring looks intact, replace the humidity sensor assembly. If the error persists, the main PCB sensor circuit may need replacement by a professional.
