Possible Causes
Worn membrane keypad, Cracked touch panel, Loose ribbon cable, Failed control PCB input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before removing the control panel.
- Test multiple keys: Note which keys fail (e.g., numbers, Start, Stop). If entire sections are dead, the membrane is likely failing.
- Clean surface: Wipe the keypad with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and gently disconnect/reconnect the keypad ribbon cable to the PCB.
- Replace keypad: If keys still fail, the membrane keypad or full control panel assembly should be replaced.
