Possible Causes
Stripped turntable motor coupler, failed turntable motor, broken turntable support wheels, misaligned glass tray
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Disconnect power before handling parts under the glass tray.
Steps to try:
- 1. Remove and clean: Take out the glass turntable and the plastic roller ring. Clean both and the cavity floor to remove food debris.
- 2. Check roller ring: Inspect the roller ring for flat spots, broken wheels, or warping. Replace if damaged.
- 3. Inspect coupler: Look at the plastic drive coupler in the center of the cavity floor. Ensure it is not cracked or stripped and that it sits firmly on the motor shaft.
- 4. Test rotation: With the tray removed, run the microwave for a few seconds and look through the door to see if the coupler turns. If it does not, the turntable motor may be faulty.
- 5. Technician-level: Access the underside of the cavity, test the turntable motor for continuity, and replace the motor if open or seized.
Do not force the tray; this can damage the motor and coupler.
