Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
SAFETY: Unplug the microwave before removing the cabinet.
E12 is associated with the humidity/steam sensor used for auto-cook functions.
- Step 1 – Clean cavity:
- Wipe down the interior, especially the area near the steam sensor (often on the top or side wall behind a small grille).
- Remove grease and food splatter that may block the sensor.
- Step 2 – Reset:
- Unplug for 5 minutes, then reconnect and test an auto program.
- Step 3 – Sensor inspection (for DIYers):
- Remove the outer cabinet.
- Locate the humidity sensor module and check its connector to the control PCB.
- Ensure the sensor port is not blocked by insulation or debris.
If E12 remains, the humidity sensor module likely needs replacement with a SilverCrest-compatible part.
