Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
SAFETY: Unplug the microwave. Convection components can be hot; allow to cool fully.
E13 indicates the convection fan is not operating correctly.
- Step 1 – Visual check:
- Look through the rear cavity grille to see if the fan spins when convection is started (use short tests only).
- Step 2 – Internal inspection (unplugged):
- Remove the outer cabinet.
- Locate the convection fan assembly at the rear of the cavity.
- Check for obstructions (foil, insulation, wiring) blocking the blades.
- Spin the fan by hand to ensure it moves freely.
- Step 3 – Wiring and motor:
- Inspect connectors for heat damage or looseness.
- If the motor is seized or shows signs of overheating, replace it with the correct SilverCrest convection fan motor.
If the fan and wiring are good, the control PCB fan relay may be defective and should be serviced by a technician.
