Possible Causes

Failed main relay on control PCB, Broken solder joints on relay pins, Faulty control PCB output transistor, Damaged wiring to high-voltage transformer

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

SAFETY: Unplug the microwave. High-voltage components are dangerous; only trained technicians should work on the power section.

E17 suggests the control is running a program but not energizing the cooking circuits.

  • Step 1 – Confirm symptom:
    • Start a cook cycle and listen for the usual relay click and hum of the transformer.
    • If there is no click or hum, the relay or its drive may be faulty.
  • Step 2 – Visual PCB inspection (for DIYers):
    • Remove the control panel and inspect the control PCB for burnt areas or cracked solder joints around the relays.

Relay replacement and soldering should be performed by a qualified technician. In many cases, the entire control PCB is replaced.
