How to Fix / Troubleshooting
SAFETY: Unplug the microwave before accessing the control area.
E18 relates to the clock and memory functions.
- Step 1 – Stable power:
- Ensure the microwave is plugged directly into a stable outlet.
- Avoid circuits with frequent brownouts or heavy load switching.
- Step 2 – Reset:
- Unplug for 10–15 minutes, then set the clock again.
- Step 3 – Control PCB inspection (for DIYers):
- Remove the control panel and visually inspect the PCB for leaking or bulging capacitors near the power supply/clock area.
Persistent E18 usually requires control PCB replacement.
