How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before cleaning or removing the control panel.
Cleaning and drying:
- Wipe the touch panel with a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
- Dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.
- If the panel was recently exposed to steam or liquid spills, leave the door open and allow the unit to air dry for several hours.
Reset:
- Unplug the microwave for 10 minutes, then plug back in and test the keypad.
Button test:
- Press each key individually and check for normal tactile feedback. If some keys feel stuck or unresponsive, note their positions.
Technician checks:
- Inspect and reseat the keypad ribbon cable on the control PCB.
- Replace the touch control membrane or complete control panel assembly if the keypad is physically damaged or shorted.
- Check the control PCB for input circuit faults.
