Possible Causes
Loose wiring harness to control board, Failed main control PCB, Faulty display/keypad PCB, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before removing any panels.
Basic reset:
- Unplug the microwave for at least 5 minutes to allow the control board to fully discharge.
- Plug it back in and check if the E05 code clears.
- If the code returns immediately, proceed to inspection.
Inspection (for experienced DIYers):
- Remove the outer cabinet to access the main control board.
- Inspect all wiring harness connectors to the control board and display board. Reseat each connector firmly.
- Look for signs of burned components, bulging capacitors, or corrosion on the control PCB.
- If there is visible damage or the error persists after reseating connectors, the control board assembly likely needs replacement.
Due to the need for correct part matching and safe reassembly, many users should have a technician replace the control board.
