Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Always unplug the microwave before opening any panels. Do not bypass fuses.
User-level checks:
- Verify the microwave is plugged directly into a properly grounded outlet, not an extension cord or power strip.
- Test the outlet with another high-draw appliance or a plug-in tester to confirm proper voltage.
- Reset any tripped circuit breakers in your home's electrical panel.
Internal checks (for trained persons):
- Remove the cabinet and locate the line fuse on the filter board or near the power cord entry.
- Test the fuse for continuity. If blown, investigate for shorted components before replacing.
- Inspect the power relay on the main control board for signs of overheating or failure.
- Check wiring from the power cord to the noise filter and control board for loose connections.
Replace any failed fuse only with the exact type and rating specified by Summit. If the new fuse blows again, stop and have a professional diagnose the underlying fault.
