- Listen for the convection fan when starting a convection cycle; absence of fan noise may indicate a fan issue.
Technical checks:
- Access the convection heater element (usually behind a cover at the rear of the cavity) and test for continuity.
- Test the grill element (typically at the top of the cavity) for continuity.
- Check the convection fan motor for free rotation and proper resistance.
- Inspect the control board heater relays and wiring for damage.
Replace any open heater element or failed fan motor with Summit-compatible parts. If elements and fan are good, the control board may need replacement.
