Possible Causes

Recent mains power interruption, Loose mains plug or socket, Faulty internal line fuse or filter board, Unstable household voltage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Ensure hands are dry when handling mains plugs.

  • Step 1 – Clear the code: Press Stop/Cancel or reset the clock according to the Swan user manual. Many models require setting the clock after PF.
  • Step 2 – Check power connection: Confirm the plug is fully inserted and the socket is not loose. Avoid using multi-way adapters or extension leads for high-power appliances.
  • Step 3 – Inspect fuse (if accessible): If the microwave is completely dead after PF, unplug it and check the plug fuse (UK models). Replace only with the correct rating.
  • Step 4 – Monitor for repeats: If PF appears frequently without obvious power cuts, have an electrician check the outlet and supply voltage. Internal filter or control board issues may also cause resets and should be inspected by a technician.
