Possible Causes
Blown internal line fuse, Faulty mains filter board, Defective power cord, Failed control PCB power supply section
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before any inspection. Internal components can still hold charge.
- Step 1 – Check outlet and plug: Test the wall socket with another appliance. Inspect the Swan microwave's plug and cable for damage. Replace a blown plug fuse (UK) only with the correct rating.
- Step 2 – Internal fuse (for competent persons): With the unit unplugged, remove the outer cabinet and locate the ceramic or glass line fuse near the mains input. If visibly blown or open on a meter, replace with the exact same type and rating.
- Step 3 – If fuse blows again: Do not keep replacing fuses. A shorted component (e.g., HV capacitor, transformer, or control board) is likely present and must be diagnosed by a technician.
If you are not comfortable working around mains wiring, seek professional service.
