Possible Causes
Burnt-out cavity lamp, Loose lamp holder connection, Faulty lamp cover or socket, Rarely, control PCB lamp relay failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before accessing the lamp. Glass parts may be hot.
- Step 1 – Access lamp: On many Swan models, the lamp is accessible by removing the outer cabinet or a dedicated lamp cover at the rear or side.
- Step 2 – Inspect and replace bulb: Check if the filament is broken or the bulb is blackened. Replace with the exact type and wattage specified for your model (often a special microwave-rated bulb).
- Step 3 – Check connections: Ensure the lamp holder contacts are clean and the wires are firmly attached.
If a new bulb does not light, the lamp circuit on the control PCB may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
