Possible Causes
Worn or cracked turntable coupler, Seized or open-circuit turntable motor, Jammed roller ring, Stripped motor shaft
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before accessing the underside.
- Step 1 – Check for obstruction: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean any spills or debris. Ensure the roller ring wheels turn freely.
- Step 2 – Inspect coupler: Examine the plastic coupler that fits into the tray. Replace if cracked or worn.
- Step 3 – Test motor: With the cabinet removed, locate the turntable motor under the cavity. Test for continuity; replace the motor if open or if it does not turn when powered (for qualified persons only).
You can temporarily use the microwave without the turntable by manually rotating food, but even heating will be reduced.
