Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC temperature sensor, Damaged sensor wiring, Loose connector at control board, Faulty ADC circuit on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave and allow it to cool.
- Locate the convection sensor: On combination models, the NTC sensor is usually mounted on the cavity wall or near the convection fan housing.
- Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the sensor to the control board for cuts, burns, or loose connectors. Reseat connectors.
- Measure sensor resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare with Telefunken specifications (commonly in the tens of kilo-ohms). A reading of near 0 Ω or infinite indicates a fault.
- Replace sensor: Install a new Telefunken-compatible NTC sensor if readings are out of range. Secure it firmly to ensure accurate temperature sensing.
