Possible Causes

Failed turntable motor,Turntable motor wiring harness issue,Obstructed turntable causing overload,Faulty turntable position sensor (if equipped)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before servicing.

  • Step 1 – Check for obstruction: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean any food debris or broken glass from the turntable drive area. Ensure the drive coupler turns freely by hand.
  • Step 2 – Test without load: Reconnect power and start a short cycle with the tray removed. If the error does not appear and the coupler turns, the issue may have been a jam.
  • Step 3 – Access motor (qualified persons): Disconnect power again. Remove the bottom panel to access the turntable motor. Inspect wiring and connectors.
  • Step 4 – Test motor: Use a multimeter to check the motor for proper resistance. If open or shorted, replace the motor with a Thermador-specified turntable motor.
  • Step 5 – Reassemble: Refit the bottom panel, reinstall the roller ring and tray, and test operation.

Warning: Do not run the microwave empty for extended periods; use a cup of water during tests.
