How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the control panel.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Unplug the Thermador microwave for 5 minutes and reconnect to see if the display stabilizes.
- Step 2 – Inspect connections (qualified persons): Remove the control panel and check the connectors between the display board and main control.
- Step 3 – Check for heat damage: Look for discoloration or heat damage on the display board.
- Step 4 – Replace display/UI board: If the display remains dim or segments are missing, replace the display or user interface board with a Thermador OEM part.
Note: A gradually dimming VFD is typically a sign of age and requires board replacement.
