Microwave over-the-range cooktop light does not work or only works intermittently.

Safety first: Disconnect power before replacing bulbs or accessing the light circuit.

• Step 1 – Replace bulb: Remove the cooktop light cover under the Thermador microwave and replace the bulb with the correct wattage and type specified in the manual.
• Step 2 – Check socket: Ensure the bulb is seated firmly and the socket is not burned or loose.
• Step 3 – Test control: Turn the cooktop light on and off using the control panel. If it flickers or does not respond, suspect a control or relay issue.
• Step 4 – Inspect wiring (qualified persons): Check wiring from the control board to the light socket for damage.
• Step 5 – Replace control board: If the bulb and wiring are good but the light does not operate, the control board light relay may be defective and require replacement.

Note: Use only bulbs rated for microwave use to avoid overheating.
