Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before inspecting the turntable mechanism.
Steps to resolve E06:
- 1. Remove glass tray: Take out the glass turntable and roller ring. Inspect for cracks, warping, or food debris.
- 2. Check the coupler: Inspect the plastic turntable coupler that fits over the motor shaft. Ensure it is not cracked or stripped and that it turns freely by hand.
- 3. Clean the cavity floor: Wipe away any spilled food or hardened residue that could jam the coupler or roller ring.
- 4. Test without load: With the tray and ring removed, plug the microwave back in and run a short 10–15 second test. Look through the window to see if the coupler rotates. If it does not move and E06 appears, the motor or wiring is likely faulty.
- 5. If the motor is noisy or seized: The turntable motor under the cavity floor may need replacement, which requires removing the bottom cover and disconnecting wiring.
Recommendation: If cleaning and coupler inspection do not restore operation, have a technician replace the turntable motor with a Toshiba-compatible part.
