Possible Causes

Failed turntable motor, jammed turntable coupler, broken turntable rotation sensor (if equipped), damaged turntable drive shaft

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the microwave before inspecting the turntable drive from underneath.

Basic checks:

  • 1. Remove glass tray: Take out the glass turntable and roller ring. Check for food debris, broken glass, or warped plastic that could jam rotation.
  • 2. Inspect coupler: Examine the plastic turntable coupler that fits over the motor shaft. If it is cracked or stripped, it may not engage the tray properly.
  • 3. Manual rotation: With the tray removed, gently turn the coupler by hand. It should rotate smoothly. If it is stiff or seized, the motor may be failing.

Advanced checks:

  • Access the underside of the cavity by removing the bottom cover (after unplugging).
  • Test the turntable motor for continuity with a multimeter. Replace if open or shorted.
  • Inspect wiring to the motor and any rotation sensor (on some Tower models) for damage or loose connections.

Note: Do not operate the microwave with the bottom cover removed. Always reassemble fully before testing.
