Microwave shows E4 and may not start convection or grill functions.

Safety: Disconnect power. Heating elements and metal edges can be hot and sharp.

• Check fan operation: In convection mode, listen for the convection fan. If it does not run, the fan motor or its wiring may be faulty.
• Inspect heater: Visually inspect the convection heater element (usually at the back or top of the cavity) for breaks or burn spots.
• Access components: Remove the outer cabinet and rear panel (if applicable) to reach the convection fan and heater terminals.
• Check connections: Ensure all wires to the fan motor and heater are secure and not burned.
• Replace failed parts: Replace the Viking convection fan motor or heater element if visibly damaged or open (testing with a meter is recommended for professionals).
• Control board: If both components test good, the control board relay may be defective and require replacement.
