How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before inspecting wiring.
- Check outlet: Verify that the Viking microwave is plugged into a properly grounded outlet and that the plug is fully inserted.
- Test circuit: If possible, test the outlet voltage with a meter (should be near 120V in North America). Low voltage can trigger E9.
- Inspect power cord: Check the cord for cuts, burns, or kinks. Replace if damaged.
- Internal inspection: With the cabinet removed and power off, inspect the line filter and wiring to the control board for loose connections or burn marks.
- Replace control board: If external power is good and wiring is intact, the internal power supply on the Viking control board may be failing and require board replacement.
