Microwave shows F9 and will not start; may be associated with door opening/closing.

Safety: Unplug the microwave before removing the cabinet or control panel. Door switch circuits are part of the safety interlock system.

• Check door closure: Ensure the Viking microwave door closes fully and evenly. Look for sagging hinges or warped door.
• Inspect latch area: Open the door and inspect the plastic latch hooks on the door and the strike openings in the cabinet for cracks or wear.
• Listen for clicks: Slowly open and close the door while listening for distinct clicks from the door switches. Missing clicks can indicate a failed or misaligned switch.
• Access door switches: Remove the control panel and, if needed, the upper cover to reach the door switch bracket. Inspect switches and bracket for looseness or damage.
• Replace faulty parts: Replace any burned, loose, or mechanically failed Viking door switches and/or latch levers. Reinstall the switch bracket securely so that all switches actuate properly when the door closes.
• Test operation: After reassembly, test door operation several times before applying power, then test with a short cook cycle.
