Possible Causes
Burned-out cavity lamp, Loose lamp socket, Failed lamp relay on control board, Broken lamp cover
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before replacing the lamp. Glass can be hot and fragile.
- Access lamp: On many Viking models, the cavity lamp is accessed from the top or rear by removing the outer cabinet, or from inside via a small cover.
- Inspect bulb: Check if the filament is broken or the bulb is darkened. Replace with the correct Viking-rated microwave lamp (wattage and base type must match).
- Check socket: Ensure the lamp is seated firmly in the socket and that the socket is not burned or loose.
- Control board: If a new lamp does not work, the lamp relay or control board may be faulty and require professional diagnosis and replacement.
