Microwave interior light does not come on, but unit heats and operates normally

Safety: Unplug the microwave before replacing the bulb. Glass can be hot and fragile.

• Locate bulb: On many Whirlpool models, the interior bulb is behind a grille or inside the cavity behind a cover. Consult the user manual.
• Replace bulb: Remove the cover and replace the bulb with the exact type and wattage specified by Whirlpool (often a special appliance bulb).

• Control issue: If bulb and socket are good, the control board's light relay may be faulty and require board replacement.
