Microwave turntable does not rotate, but heating still works

Safety: Unplug the microwave before accessing the bottom panel.

• Check for obstruction: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean any spilled food or debris. Ensure the roller ring moves freely.
• Inspect coupler: The plastic coupler that fits into the motor shaft can crack. Remove it and check for damage; replace if worn.
• Test motor: With the bottom panel removed (on many Whirlpool models), access the turntable motor. Check for burnt smell or discoloration. Test continuity with a meter; an open motor must be replaced.
• Replace motor: Install a new Whirlpool turntable motor and reassemble. Ensure the coupler and tray are properly seated.
