Possible Causes
Defective touch keypad membrane, Failed user interface (UI) board, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and control board, Liquid ingress into control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before touching the control panel area for inspection.
Basic checks:
- Wipe the control panel with a soft, slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Ensure no moisture is trapped around the keys.
- Check if certain keys are unresponsive or stuck. Do not press excessively hard on the panel.
- Reset the microwave by unplugging it for 2–3 minutes, then reconnecting power. Try operating again.
If E04 persists:
- The touch keypad or UI board may be defective or have a loose ribbon connection.
- Do not attempt to remove the control panel unless you are trained; the panel is integrated with low-voltage electronics and can be damaged easily.
- Schedule service to have the keypad membrane or UI board inspected and replaced as needed.
