Possible Causes
Faulty membrane keypad, Damaged touch sensor PCB, Loose ribbon cable to control board, Moisture ingress behind control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains.
- Dry and clean: If the error appeared after steam or liquid spilled near the controls, leave the microwave unplugged for several hours to dry. Wipe the control area with a dry cloth.
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the control panel assembly and inspect the flat ribbon cable between the keypad and main PCB. Reseat the cable and ensure it is not creased or damaged.
- Inspect keypad: Look for signs of delamination, bubbling, or physical damage on the membrane keypad. Sticky keys or permanent activation indicate failure.
- Replace keypad or control module: If individual keys do not respond or E08 persists, replace the keypad membrane or the entire control panel module with a Zanussi-compatible part.
Do not spray cleaners directly onto the control panel; apply to a cloth first to prevent future moisture damage.
