Possible Causes
Open grill heating element, Open convection heating element, Faulty heater relay on control board, Overtemperature cut-out tripped on heater
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave and allow it to cool completely.
- Visual inspection: Inspect the grill and convection elements (if visible) for breaks, hot spots, or deformation.
- Check thermal cut-outs: Locate thermal cut-outs mounted on the cavity or near the heaters. Test for continuity; replace any that are open with the correct Zanussi part.
- Test elements: Disconnect the heater terminals and measure resistance. An infinite reading indicates a failed element.
- Replace faulty element: Remove mounting screws or brackets and install a new Zanussi-compatible grill or convection element.
- Check relays: If elements and cut-outs are good, the heater relay on the control board may be faulty, requiring PCB replacement.
