Possible Causes

Grease or food buildup on sensor area, Defective high-temperature sensor, Poor contact between pot and heater, Faulty main PCB temperature circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the cooker to cool fully.

  • Clean cooking chamber: Remove the inner pot and clean the heating plate and surrounding area to remove any burnt-on grease or food that may cause localized overheating.
  • Check pot bottom: Ensure the inner pot bottom is clean, flat, and free from heavy carbon deposits. Clean with a non-abrasive pad.
  • Inspect high-temp sensor: Some AEG models have a separate high-temperature sensor near the heating plate. Verify it is firmly attached and not covered by debris.
  • Test sensor: Measure the resistance of the high-temperature sensor at room temperature and compare with specifications or with the main NTC. Replace if readings are out of range.
  • PCB evaluation: If sensors and surfaces are clean and E12 persists, the main PCB's temperature measurement circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
