Possible Causes

Open-circuit bottom NTC sensor, Shorted bottom NTC sensor, Loose sensor connector on main PCB, Faulty main control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and ensure the inner pot is removed and the unit is cool before working underneath or inside.

  • Remove inner pot: Take out the stainless or non-stick inner pot and visually inspect the base plate for signs of overheating or damage.
  • Access bottom sensor: Turn the cooker upside down on a soft cloth. Remove the base screws to access the heating plate and bottom temperature sensor assembly.
  • Check connector: Locate the 2‑wire NTC sensor clipped to or embedded in the heating plate. Ensure its connector is firmly attached to the main PCB and free of corrosion.
  • Measure resistance: Use a multimeter to measure the sensor resistance at room temperature. Compare to the lid sensor if they are the same type. Replace the bottom temperature sensor if it reads open (OL) or short (0 Ω).
  • Inspect PCB tracks: Look for burnt or cracked solder joints at the sensor input on the main PCB. If damage is visible or E2 persists after sensor replacement, the main control PCB likely needs replacement.
