Possible Causes

Defective lid lock microswitch, Misaligned lid locking mechanism, Broken lid lock actuator, Damaged lid lock wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker. Ensure there is no pressure inside before manipulating the lid.

  • Check lid closure: Open and close the lid several times, ensuring it aligns correctly with the body and the handle fully engages the lock. Listen for a distinct click from the lock switch.
  • Inspect lid lock area: Remove the top cover (if serviceable) to access the lid lock assembly. Look for broken plastic parts, misaligned levers, or foreign objects obstructing movement.
  • Test microswitch: With a multimeter, test the lid lock microswitch for continuity when the lid is locked and unlocked. Replace the switch if it does not change state reliably.
  • Check wiring: Follow the lid lock harness from the switch to the main PCB. Ensure connectors are tight and wires are not broken at the hinge area.
  • Replace lid lock assembly: If mechanical parts are worn or cracked, replace the complete lid lock assembly with an AEG-compatible part.
