Possible Causes
Incorrect or non-original inner pot causing poor thermal contact, Contaminated heating plate surface, Faulty secondary temperature sensor, Main PCB calibration error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the cooker to cool completely.
- Use original pot: Ensure you are using the original AEG inner pot or an approved replacement. Third-party pots with different thickness or shape can cause E8.
- Clean contact surfaces: Remove any burnt-on food, sugar, or oil from the heating plate and the bottom of the pot using a non-abrasive pad and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly.
- Check for warping: Place the inner pot on a flat surface to check for warping. A warped pot may not sit evenly on the heater and should be replaced.
- Inspect secondary sensor: Some AEG models have an additional sensor near the rim or side wall. Access the interior shell and verify that this sensor is firmly attached and its wiring intact.
- Test with water: Fill the pot with water and run a low to medium temperature program. If E8 recurs quickly, the secondary sensor or main PCB may be defective and require replacement.
