Possible Causes
Faulty Start button or touch sensor, Child lock function enabled, Firmware glitch, Loose keypad ribbon cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before removing the control panel.
- Check child lock: Refer to the AEG manual to see if a key lock icon is displayed. Disable the child lock by holding the specified button combination.
- Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect and try again.
- Inspect keypad connection: Remove the front panel and reseat the ribbon cable between the keypad/touch panel and the main PCB.
- Test Start button: If using mechanical buttons, test the Start switch with a multimeter for continuity when pressed. Replace the keypad or switch if faulty.
- Control board replacement: If the interface hardware is intact but the cooker still ignores Start, the control PCB may be defective and require replacement.
