Possible Causes
Shorted heating element to chassis, Damaged mains cable, Moisture inside base or on PCB, Shorted triac or relay contacts to ground
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset the breaker. Unplug the cooker immediately. This fault can be dangerous.
- Visual inspection: Remove the base and inspect for burnt wiring, melted insulation, or signs of arcing around the heater and mains input.
- Check heating element insulation: With a multimeter set to resistance, measure between each heater terminal and the metal chassis. Any low resistance indicates a short; replace the heating element.
- Inspect power cord: Check for crushed or cut sections. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Look for moisture: If there are signs of water ingress, dry the unit thoroughly for 24–48 hours and clean any corrosion.
- PCB inspection: Examine the main PCB for carbonized tracks or shorted components. Replace the PCB if damage is found.
