Safety first: Do not touch escaping steam. Allow the cooker to cool and depressurize before inspection.

Tighten lid hardware: Remove the inner lid and check all screws securing the inner plate and handle. Tighten gently but firmly.
Inspect inner lid seals: Check any small silicone gaskets or rings on the inner lid for cracks or flattening. Replace as needed.
Check for warping: Place the lid on a flat surface to see if it rocks. A significantly warped lid may not seal properly and should be replaced.
Examine for cracks: Look for hairline cracks around the handle base or steam channels. Replace the lid assembly if structural damage is found.

Steam or water leaks from around the lid handle or from the sides of the lid during pressure cooking.
